He received his master’s degree in acupuncture from Maryland University of Integrative Health where he studied Five Element Acupuncture. Matt teaches yoga and meditation classes regularly at various locations in Philadelphia. He conducts the Philadelphia chapter of the 100 families project, which deepens the benefit of acupuncture by rooting them in wellness practices. Matt has taught healthy weight seminars in corporate settings and the 12-week Mind-Body Program at the YMCA. He also conducts the Wellness in Schools Project, bringing yoga to the Philadelphia School District.
Through his education in Five Element Acupuncture, Matt has become particularly interested in and suited to the treatment of the many common mental emotional experiences of modern life. Anxiety, depression, difficulty concentrating and many other symptoms arising from stressful circumstances can be greatly reduced through acupuncture treatment. Five element acupuncture recognizes that emotions have a major impact on the flow of energy in the body and so often affect the health of our internal organs and other physiological systems. By realigning the flow of energy through appropriate point selection, symptoms subside, pain is relieved and well-being established. Matt is also competent in the treatment of aches and pains, injuries, gastrointestinal difficulties and fertility.
